Warranty Terms

  • 3-year warranty on all Impulse drive systems (model year 2017 or later and date of purchase 1 August 2017 or later)
  • 3-year warranty on all BMZ batteries (model year 2017 or later and date of purchase 1 August 2017 or later)
  • all other drive systems and batteries (Bosch, Shimano, etc.) are covered by the statutory warranty of 2 years
  • 10-year warranty on all E-bike and S-pedelec frames (model year 2014 or later)

In order to activate the 10-year frame warranty/3-year Impulse drive system warranty/3-year BMZ battery warranty, register your model online within eight weeks after the purchase date (providing all requested details).

The warranty is only valid for new cycles and the first (1st) owner, and is non-transferrable.

Impulse engines & BMZ batteries

  • If defects in material or workmanship of the engine/battery occur within the warranty period, please contact your authorised dealer.
  • Wear-and-tear, signs of regular use and ageing within normal limits are not covered by the warranty. Damage to the engine/battery (including but not limited due to improper handling/repair/maintenance, accident, wilful damage or external intervention) that occurs after handover is not covered by the provisions of the warranty and is also not covered by liability for material defects. If the E-bike has been used in competitions or for rental purposes, the warranty does not apply.
  • A condition for any guarantee claim on the battery is that the battery must retain a residual capacity of 60%. In the event of replacement, the customer has no entitlement to require the original decorative finishing.

Frames

  • If defects in material or workmanship of the frame occur within the 10-year warranty period that lead to cracking or breakage, please contact your authorised dealer.
  • Wear-and-tear, signs of regular use and ageing within normal limits are not covered by the warranty; neither is damage to paint or defects in paint on the e-bike frame. Damage to the paintwork that occurs after handover from the dealer is not covered by the terms of the warranty and is also not covered by liability for material defects. If the bike has been used in races or for rental purposes, the warranty does not apply.
  • If the model is no longer in the product portfolio within the 10-year warranty period, the customer will receive an adequate replacement model from the existing product range (colour and decorative finishing may differ from the original model).

Warranty registration procedure

  • In order to activate the 10-year frame warranty/3-year Impulse drive system warranty/3-year BMZ battery warranty, register your model online within eight weeks after the purchase date (providing all requested details).
  • We will then send you a confirmation e-mail. Please always include this confirmation with any warranty claim.
  • The required inspections must have been carried out by an authorised dealer and noted in the service booklet.
  • Any warranty claims must be resolved through your dealer only. You will receive a new frame, new battery or new engine from your dealer; the installation will be performed by the dealer.
  • Please enter the serial number (S/N) and the article number (P/N) of your Kalkhoff e-bike on the form. You will find this on the white sticker at the bottom of the down tube or underside of the top tube.
