All Kalkhoff products and technologies are developed locally in Cloppenburg. In accordance with specifications drawn up here and monitored by members of our workforce, selected partner companies manufacture the tube frames which form the basis of our high-quality Kalkhoff bicycles.With around 600 employees, we not only contribute to employment in our region, but can also ensure that we meet the quality standards we have set ourselves.
Development
The development of our bicycles, and of individual technologies or specific components, starts with an idea. To then implement the idea and test its suitability, Kalkhoff works with cutting-edge computer software for visualising and calculating complex models. This is the only way of realising our ideas both imaginatively
and effectively to create the perfect bicycle for you. Planning on the computer produces a technical drawing from which we build a prototype. We then test this in our own laboratory, making improvements where necessary. In this way we can exploit the full potential of the bicycle.
Test laboratory
Kalkhoff has one of the most advanced and largest test centres in Europe. Prototypes, individual components, modules and all the models we create are thoroughly tested by our engineers. Kalkhoff does not only utilise the long experience and specialist
knowledge of its workforce, but on state-of-the-art test machines in particular. In addition to international standards (DIN EN and DIN plus), many parts have to meet our more stringent in-house standards as well.
Production
As soon as a prototype fulfils our high requirements, we have our partners manufacture the "tube frames".
These frames arrive untreated at our factory in Cloppenburg, where they are then assembled to form a complete bike.
