Drive system
The heart of an E-bike is the drive system, which in turn consists of the motor, the control electronics and the battery.

Motor
Differences in motors can be identified, on the one hand, in the performance of the motor. In its quick pedelecs, Kalkhoff uses motors with an output of up to 350 W (Bosch Speed). On the other hand, there is a fundamental difference as to where the motor is positioned on the bike.
There are front, centre and rear motors. All three types are available from Kalkhoff. The most important features of the various models are given below:
Centre motor

Front motor

Battery
The battery offers the perfect combination of performance (range, service life) and low weight. Kalkhoff E-bikes are supplied with various state-of-the-art lithium-ion batteries. These are some of the most reliable batteries on the market and offer the benefits of a long service life and easy charging.
From model year 2012, Kalkhoff will offer a total of 11 battery versions, which will enable a maximum range of up to 120 kilometres (depending on the model). Precise ranges and further information can be found in the details on the individual drive systems.
