Our bestsellers: The powerful Impulse drives – bought over 400,000 times

Yes, we're reinventing the wheel on a daily basis: Centre motor with back-pedal brake? No problem! In 2011, we presented this combination for the first time, with our own Kalkhoff Impulse drive system. This enables us to coordinate all of the components and offer you an e-bike that meets your personal requirements: Ride with power assist up to 45 km/h with the S-Pedelecs, and use your heart rate to control the drive with the Kalkhoff Impulse Ergo. If your heart rate falls below the optimal frequency while riding, the motor will also reduce its assistance. If your heart rate gets too high, the drive power will be increased.

Shift-Sensor for perfect gear shifting under load

Following on from the Kalkhoff Impulse, our aim was to develop a more powerful acceleration plus quicker braking and gear shifting. And in 2014, we achieved just that with the Kalkhoff Impulse 2.0. With its shift-sensor technology, the motor briefly interrupts assistance, allowing for smooth gear shifting under load.

Impulse Evo for a faster ride

In 2015, we went even further: The Impulse Evo is more powerful, quieter and more durable. The head tube, down tube and motor mount of the Kalkhoff Integrale are now built as a single unit. And that's not all that's new: The Kalkhoff Impulse Evo Smart Display can also be used as a navigation system via the special app. Your smartphone provides the computer power, the app does the routing, and the Evo Smart Display clearly shows you the way.

Strengthened components for greater safety

Another important benefit is that all components of the Kalkhoff Impulse Evo have been designed with durability in mind. The gear unit has been strengthened, the new deflection shaft and the new drawn-cup roller clutch are even sturdier, and the innovative multi-tooth axle ensures a secure crank assembly. All components have to be designed specifically for an e-bike to ensure that they can withstand high loads. We therefore advise against opting for an e-bike conversion kit, which would mean that not all parts meet the high demands of an e-bike. Instead, we recommend choosing a complete system such as the powerful new e-bike drive Kalkhoff Impulse Evo. Try it for yourself!
